ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jeanne Edwards has lived in the Northwest for over 25 years. She received a degree in graphic design and illustration from the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in Denver, Colorado. She worked as an art director/illustrator for various design and advertising agencies, eventually co-owning an award-winning graphic design firm.
After returning to fine art, she traveled and studied under several nationally acclaimed artists. Her work has shown in both group and solo exhibitions throughout the United States.
Her paintings reflect the way she works by using the language of the brushstroke with color and vitality. "I love to paint humanity capturing the emotions of the people and the character of the places that inspire me most. My paintings are an interpretation of what I see and encounter. I am drawn to the beauty and descriptive quality of light, and intrigued by the day-to-day events in our fast-paced world. I think of my paintings as studies - the process never ends with always more to discover."
She now lives in Port Angeles, Washington where her studio faces the strait of Juan de Fuca.
